I didn't think in my life I'll ever use this journal. Now here I am and writing this.
I assume you noticed I didn't post anything since years ago, only faved artworks without commenting. First: because I don't have photoshop anymore. Second: I'm a sucker at drawing. Third, and most important: I'm writing instead of that.
I didn't finish anything yet, but I have concepts. When I first really tried myself in that, I was a fanfiction writer. I was 16 or 17 at that time, I don't remember clearly. Of course, I had some original content, but nothing grandiose. But because of some shocking experience - I was a jerk with someone and she stopped talking to me, and I was a coward to ask for pardon for years - I had given up on fanfiction. I won't write fanfiction again but I have other reasons: I think now it's one of the lowest forms of writing, not necessarily in quality, but in ideas.
I had some original ideas, but thinking it back, most of it sucked balls. For example: a vampire who got stabbed by a priest with a stake. Of course, my vampires were different: they were carnivores with blood of blue color and coming from Latin-America, so it looked like a cold-blooded murder. Or robots becoming more humane after human extinction. OK, these ideas maybe weren't total shit, but the final forms of those works were. But here's something really sucky: I had a thing for aristocrats I didn't know anything about them except for the stereotypes. And I wrote things about how everything is perfect and shit like that. And I thought I know English well, but I was horrible in it. Maybe I still have my previous DeviantArt page somewhere, but I won't search for it: what matters is it's full of everything I mentioned before.
Of course, I had my fantasy-world idea. I loved tabletop RPG, so I think almost everyone had an idea for a fantasy world before who's a newcomer in RPG. I still have that, but it was never finished: the world is just too massive. Recently I had new ideas for it and planning to revise the whole thing, but its a waste of time because itll never become an RPG. Its just fun tinkering with it sometimes.
Now here are some decent - and recent - ones I started since 2007:
1, A story about a magical academy. Of course, later I realized we have a lot of stories like that. The main difference it's contemporary in every way, so not a second Harry Potter. And it was definitely darker: people were born with what kind of magic they can learn and they had defects because of it, mostly mental issues. And I had a conception for blood magic as everything what can go wrong with magic: it had the advantage of being independent from the Web - where magic comes from - but the price is heavy; basically you're a murderer and a vampire. The main characters were a Hungarian university student with the ability of web weaving - altering the basic structure of magical energy - and an Iranian necromancer transfer student girl, who's a stereotypical goth - listening to EBM, wearing weird clothes, etc. The guy had a little brother with the ability of sympathetic magic, often attached to graffiti and the like, and a father who's a shape-changer, therefore does not age at all. The enemies were mostly blood magicians from Mexico, where practicing it is allowed by the main academy of Mexico City. Where the most of actions were taken place is Budapest, but I had an idea for a chapter in Tehran as well. It stayed only as an idea, it wasn't ever beyond that. And Bioware stole my blood magic idea, so meh
2, A post-apocalyptic story. This time literally. The plot takes place 999 years after the Armageddon, where the Kingdom of Heaven is in making of a big galactic colonial empire if it wasn't for those damn aliens. There are two main characters: Archangel Michael, General of the Army in the KoH, and Dum Hazzan, an alien admiral, who rejected his caste he was destined for - where they can be scientists, doctors, etc. -, and pursued a military career. The war between the two factions - KoH and the "alien invaders", who calls themselves in their own language "The Civilization" - has recently hit the Solar System, so there are tons of refugees from both the human and alien colonies, and space pirates in the asteroid belts who gladly raid both factions. And we have a basically independent Mars, with the leadership of Azazel and the other devils, who betrayed Lucifer in the end and chose God's side in the war, so they now have their own planet, which serves as a prison as well, because there's no death penalty: the greatest punishment someone gets for disobeying the law is eternal banishment to the Red Planet of Hell. It's a complex story with lots of characters, intrigues and the like, so I definitely want to continue that.
3, A coming-of-age story, based on one of my previous Harry Potter-fanfiction. The main character is a guy in a rich family (in the original, he was George Weasley), living his grand life. His father wants him to become a businessman just like he was. He doesn't have plans for his life but later he decides he had enough of it and leaves the family estate, only he has nothing except for his belongings, so he begs for the family's black sheep, his older brother (in the original, it was Percy) to let him live in his flat. He hesitates but agrees in the end. And this is where his adventure for finding jobs and his place in the world start. It's a short romantic slice-of-life story but I'm very fond of it. The basic structure is already done; I just need to finish it.
4, Aaaaaand what I mentioned in the title: a magical girl-story. You can find it here what I wrote about it so far: forum.onemanga.com/showthread.…
. It's what I'm the busiest with. The original idea I had is something like that: what if Sailor Moon and her friends bombed Pearl Harbor to the oblivion? And this is where I started writing up the basic concept of the plot. It's been evolved with the times, and how things looks like, I want to go pro with this. It'll be in comic format. The basic story is about a girl who finds out she's a Mahou Shoujo (magical girl in Japanese, whod have thought). Seems familiar, but what we know about magical girls in this world, it's not a good thing: they were basically war criminals in the Second World War. And they're not magical at all, because in this story, there's no magic. But instead we have Lego genetics. At first I wanted it shorter, but with the time it has become vast, so it'll take years before I finish this one. But with every day I'm more and more fond of it. And it has nothing to do with Madoka: I had the idea before anyway
And we don't always have a magical girl story in which the basic inspirations were Watchmen, 20th Century Boys, Akira and the works of Osamu Tezuka (what I read from him so far).
And thats it for today. From now on, Im going to write here if theres some update.
